Lately I am experimenting with black and white film. This photo was not taken with film, but I am anxious to see how the exposure of this same scene on my spent roll of Fujifilm Neopan 100 Acros (or was it my roll of Kodak T-Max 100?) come out.

Why am I experimenting with (costly, in the long run) film, when using my (initially expensive) DSLR costs me nothing? Because I won't know if I prefer film or digital, if I don't use film and see which I prefer. I have heard other photographers' opinions and am curious if I will see a noticeable difference. Right now I prefer digital, because I can immediately know if an image is what I want and re-shoot, if necessary. But I am excited about experimenting with film and can hardly wait to see my images.

Quite frankly, if it wasn't for the ease of digital, I would be reluctant to experiment with film. But learning the ins and outs of my DSLR over the past couple of years has given me the confidence to try my hand at film, again.
