stairs leading to a pedestrian underpass

While I have been away from here I have been adding to my stock photo portfolio, updating the About Me section of this site, listing and selling more photos from my Etsy shoppe, doing publicity shots for an aspiring author, learning a few new tricks in Lightroom, and updating my photo equipment. My trusty Canon 300D and 18-128mm lens are now in the hands of a fast-learning friend, and I am shooting with a Canon 5D. It was time to take things to the next level, so when opportunity knocked I made sure to answer.

Though I bought the 5D with a 24-105mm f4L USM IS lens, I still have a passionate love affair going on with my 50mm f1.8. The sharpness of that lens combined with the superior operation of the more advanced camera amaze me day after day. I took the diptych above with that combination.

New equipment means a willingness to try new things. I am working on a series on churches around NYC and find myself photographing stairs leading underground. I seem to be collecting images of cemeteries, as well. I have no idea where all of this will lead or what I will do with all of the images, but I am enjoying the processes.
